Where in the world

following Ms Malkin's common headline habit ...

have I been. Well I've been in L.A. at

GodBlogCon God Blog Convention

A convention for Christian Bloggers, i.e., those bloggers who hold to the Creed of Nicea. It's been very interesting. For more, click the picture (a link) and then go to the "blog" link. There you can ... read all about it as they say.

Christian Carnival

Is up, oddly enough at my blog, Pseudo-Polymath.

Oddly enough because I had just volunteered to be put in the queue, when Dory asked me to step in to cover a last minute cancellation.

Just Askin'

Denzil on Sunday in his post service comments noted that Pat Robertson had "given thanks he was spared" from the disaster in New Orleans and the general reaction seemed to be that comment was way out of line.

Now for be it from me to be an apologist for Mr Robertson, heavens knows the man can put his foot in his mouth to match the best worst of them, but it seems to me that giving Thanks to the Lord when one is spared from calamity is not beyond the pale, in fact if I was more familiar with David's poetry, I could (and should) be able to spout off a dozen instances where the Pslamist gives thanks for just that. Now there may have been more in context which made Mr Robertson's remarks offensive ... but given what Denzil quoted, I don't get it.

On Reverence

The pre-Reformation Church was far less solemn a place. We are more reverent, careful, and dolorous than our Medieval forebears. I wrote a little more on that here. What do you all think?

Good, bad, or a wash?
